Stuffed Animals And iPad Nanos
In childhood, many of us have a blanket or object of some kind that we cannot be separated from. Boys and girls alike across the republic have “binkies” of some type that have to be parted from when they reach a certain age. We tend to think of this as a phenomenon of youth, but I found nothing really changes. I left my sunglasses at a friends house on Tuesday and have been all out of sorts since then. It was even overcast and I longed for them.
The same is true with smart phones now. On Friday I attended a show at a club in downtown Jacksonville and you could not spill a beer without hitting someone with a touchscreen phone or iPad nano. I count myself as one of those helplessly attached to my iPhone, feeling like I’ve left a child unattended if it’s off my person. This simply proves that some of us mature over the course of our lives. Yet most of us simply exchange our worn out stuffed animals for smart phones with fart aps.
