The Time Has Come, I’m Leaving The Democrat Party
The political world is in turmoil and I don’t know who or what to trust in today’s America. I’ve been mostly silent over the last few days because, much like many Americans I have become disgusted with both political parties. I was a registered Republican at the height of the Gingrich revolution, and a registered Democrat in the age of Pelosi and Obama. But now as we drift aimlessly I don’t know where to turn. I will admit, getting most of my news from the mainstream liberal media I have been blinded and lied to about certain alternatives to the two party political world. I will admit also that in this space I have routinely impugned the motives and regularly heaped scorn upon the Tea Party movement. Yet I have done much soul searching in the past week. This matter weighed so heavily on me that it put me in a terrible funk and ruined my weekend.
Sitting with a copy of the United States Constitution this past Friday night with a sweaty glass of Wild Turkey it suddenly occurred to me. This is my birthright and both the Democrats and the Republicans have no regard for that birthright. It became clear to me as I finally searched Topeka for more information about what the Tea Party stood for that this was my true home. I may have had issue with some of the people that made up the movement, but that movement was my real home. So today I will drive during my lunch to the Duval County Supervisor of Elections office and change my party affiliation to Tea Party. I encourage you to do the same and in the future I’ll be telling you more about the great things the Tea Party movement is doing for our great constitutional republic.
God Bless America, and Glenn Beck.
