Compassionate Conservatives Think Ling And Lee Deserved It
I wrote earlier about the predictable sour reception the Bill Clinton mission to North Korea to secure the release of journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee received among conservatives who find if impossible to give any credit to the 42nd President. Reading Think Progress it gets even more ridiculous. Reading the article known foot-fetishist Dick Morris and John Podhoretz both seem to feel that it was Ling and Lee’s fault and should have been left there as just punishment for working for a cable channel founded by former Vice President Al Gore. I wonder what their feelings would have been if President Obama had the same callous regard to two journalist held by North Korea if they had been reporters for Fox News Channel or the Wall Street Journal? They all forget that the Bush administration negotiated regularly with the North Korean regime. As with everything the political amnesia started on January 20th.

And I saw the dastardly Karl Rove say it was the right thing to do and give Obama credit for not trumpeting it.
