Governor Sanford Ruins Iraq War Cover Story
I was reading over the Florida politics blog of the St. Petersburg Times and there is a thread about how no one can find the whereabouts of Governor Charlie Crist and something occurred to me. Due to the Defense Department’s use of a back door draft by heavily using individual units from state National Guard contingents, state governors do on occasion visit the Iraq war theater. When an official like a state governor is going to a war zone they do not publicize their leaving. So they are for a while un-able to be found. After the recent scandal regarding Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina every time a governor leaves unaccounted for it is now immediately a story. Now I have no idea if Charlie Crist is going to Iraq or has been found yet, but Sanford has ruined this for the the time being. Good job Mark.
