Sarah Palin Will Sue You, So Don’t Be Mean To Her
The strange and bizarre saga of soon to be ex-Governor Sarah Palin just continues to develop badly as the July Fourth weekend progresses. Palin first resigns a year before her first term is over and makes the announcement on the Friday of a holiday weekend. It’s widely accepted that releasing news on a Friday is done to minimize bad news. The news conference itself was breathtaking in that it matched the strange rambling nature of Governor Mark Sanford’s affair admission presser. At her news conference she took the normal conservative distrust of the press and propelled it to new heights of paranoia and bitter scapegoating. Her victimhood at the hands of the press is fascinating when put next to the conservative narrative of her being some tough as nails fighter. She accused the press of not asking enough questions of others but apparently can’t handle the pressure of being asked questions herself.
Yet after her Friday announcement even GOP operatives where saying openly how damaging this would be to any idea she had for higher elected office. Only Fox News painted her running away from the one important job she ever had after barely two years as somehow shrewd and wise. Greta Van Susteren is sitting in bed right now crying wondering how she will go on without the Palin’s as a regular guest. But Saturday brought news that she honestly was sick of the game and of the pressure, and that she just wanted to focus on her family. The quote that was most read yesterday was that she was done for good. That at least was a plausible answer to the bizarre events. If that were the case it would have been a shrewd move to have her Lt. Governor in place as an incumbent for the upcoming election in 2010. Yet that was not the last crazy twist in the story. Today comes news that her Facebook page has a rambling screed in which she states she has some idea that she will be moving on to some higher cause now that she’s run away from her job, and threatening to sue any news organization or blogger that reports on her. Her political career has become a joke by any measure and Democrats would love for her not to go away. All but the foil hat 20% of the country that thought George W. Bush was awesome will every swallow whatever crazy nonsense comes out of her mouth now and most establishment Republicans no longer drinking the kool-aid understand this. I just hope she keeps it up myself.

I think you don’t want to talk to MY lawyer.
She’s been smeared and mocked for a year. I don’t blame her for thinking the media is “out to get her.” And I think she had no political future anyway. I feel bad for her, but I’m glad she’s not some rallying point for the 20% of the Republican party who still thought she was a viable candidate.
She’s a piece of work…
I’m suggesting simultaneous blogs about Palin, just to test the strength of her lawyer!
It’s just phase one of her grand plan. Trust me she’s not done.
