Any Better Ideas Republicans?
Reading the Huffington Post today there is a story of President Obama telling a group of newspaper reporters that Republicans just seem to be against anything he or Democrats are for. He states that such opposition may have been cool during the earlier ’90′s, but that tough times call for constructive measures. He is right, the present strategy of the Republican party is to simply be against anything put forward by the President and his party. Keep in mind they may be right to oppose certain measures put forward by the President and the majority party in Congress, but what is your better idea? The fact is there is no better idea being put forward by congressional Republicans. I personally wish they would. Their numbers are trending well but they seem to feel the safer play is to sit back and let those in control of everything fail or succeed on their own. This all seems funny because the prime retort to Democratic criticism of President Bush always seemed to be the question if the other side had any better ideas. There’s too much risk to do so. So that means nothing changes and we all are screwed.
