The Sunshine Empire

Tonight I sit near my bed, and my sister sits in a hospital bed just yards from where I was born. I posted earlier about “Your mother’s Face.” But the fact is I saw my mother’s face tonight at it was filled with concern, stress, and consternation. My dear sister and only sibling is having medical problems and I rushed to Baptist Medical Center on the banks of the St. Johns River after hearing of the situation. After many tests my sister seems to be doing fine, but my mother is still up there as we speak. She is operating on two hours sleep and about five gallons of adrenaline. She will probably not sleep properly for another 48 hours. I’ve seen my mother’s face tonight and I love her for it.
