The Sunshine Empire

The eyes of the college football world will be on the Georgia Dome in Atlanta for the match up of #1 Alabama vs. #2 Florida for the championship of the Southeastern Conference.  Now for weeks this match up has been set, and I am admittedly a UF alum, but I was never comfortable with the assumption by the national sports media that this game was a forgone conclusion for Florida.  At the same time I have found it amusing that Alabama is the new sexy pick to win the game in the past few days.  I have watched Florida go into game week against a top ten defense and come out with another lopsided win, and I have seen them match up with good running games, but Alabama will be a stiff test.  The match up is also interesting as it is the old school vs. the new guard in the SEC.  I look for Florida to win this game a little closer than the last seven, but then again I said the same thing about the game last week.  Instead of being slowed down by water they will be sped up on the turf of the dome.  This should be a good game.
