Sunshine Empire Sports Stomping
The political world is dominating, but in a way that satiates my ADD the sports world is a roller coaster ride as well for me. For the teams in the state of Florida that I do not hate, it was a great three days so far. At the beginning of the weekend I thought my beloved #11 ranked Florida Gators were on the way to a close defeat at the hands of #3 LSU. My Jacksonville Jaguars had lost a close game to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Football Night In America and I thought they would have a tough road to hoe in a match-up at Mile High against the hated (I hate them anyway) Denver Broncos. With all that, despite my being a Florida Marlins fan, I was rooting for the Tampa Bay Rays as they were down to the Boston Red Sox. The teams of the Sunshine Empire proved they could take adversity, and dog stomp the competition. The Florida Gators behind reigning Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow (who won a state title in Florida for my High School, Nease) trampled the defending National Title winners 51-21 with myself and TSE’s chief political adviser in attendance. The Gators are now ranked #5 and have a shot at being back in the title hunt. David Garrard, Maurice Jones-Drew and the rest of the Jacksonville Jaguars climbed to the precipice of Mile High Stadium and beat the Denver Broncos at home for the second straight season. Yet last but not least the upstart Rays went to Fenway and stomped the Saux 9-1. SAY CHOWDAAAAH!.
As with any woman, all three of these teams will ruin my life and emotional stability soon, but I’m going to enjoy this for a moment.
