TSE Post Presidential Debate Wrap Up 2008: Debate Night Three
I’m watching the post debate coverage with Fox News and Gretta is in the spin room talking about voodoo. All the conservative bone fides on Fox are not saying that this was any kind of game changer for McCain. Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri seems to be the new liberal darling of Fox News and Chris Wallace. I even touched on BBC America’s coverage of the debate and it was surprisingly the same as domestic coverage. CNN’s panel seems to be the most rich in actual insight into this debate. Chris Matthews on MSNBC agrees with most when he says that this was not a game changer in a game when he is starting to get way behind.

Remember, the candidate who refers to the townhall audience as “my friends” the most times, WINS!
McCain-19, Obama-0.
I’m not sure what exactly McCain can do. He doesn’t disagree with Obama much on domestic policy (aside from tax increases). They’re basically quibbling over dollar amounts, not fundamental policies or assumptions about the role of government. It doesn’t help him that nobody gives much of a shit about foreign policy at the moment. This is the problem with running a “maverick” Republican against a liberal Democrat. Not that the Republicans had any good choices.
