TSE Election Central Focus: Colorado And New Mexico

Looking over the electoral map on The Sunshine Empire big board, and Barack Obama is leading in both Colorado and New Mexico barely. By our electoral math, those two states could decide the race for the White House in the Electoral College. Just on a side note, the term “college” to refer to a group of people choosing a leader and not a school is only used two times in the English language, for the choosing of a Pope, and a President of The United States. That’s pretty heady company. But the thing that may be beneficial for the Democrats is the Udall kids. Cousins Mark and Tom Udall are running for United States Senate Seats from neighboring states Colorado and New Mexico. Those two states amount to 13 electoral votes and two states taken from the Republicans as compared to 2004. Add that to what I expect will be a win in Iowa and the board looks pretty good for Obama. Turnout is the key though, and Tom will have a better go of it than Mark.
