TSE Election Central: Mitt And The Huck Take The Stage

I just found out something that I had been ignorant of. John McCain is apparently a former Prisoner of War.

If you don’t think that the Texas delegation wearing cowboy hats if retarded, then you are retarded.

It is interesting that four years after saying that military service in Vietnam was not all that important, the Republicans seem to have changed their minds and now again think it is a prerequisite.

Mitt Romney’s speech was thankfully more rousing than the snore-fest from Carley, but the former Governor of Massachusetts made the curious claim that the East coast was the center of our problems (see globe for location of Massachusetts). He gave a really good speech, but made one factual error when he said that in Denver last week, you never heard a mention of the danger of radical Islam. Lets remember Barack Obama from his acceptance speech, “John McCain likes to say that he’ll follow bin Laden to the Gates of Hell, but he won’t even go to the cave where he lives.” Mike Huckabee gave a speech in the vein of his Southern Baptist roots, but lost me when he went to the tired old, “the evil media is all to blame for everything” BS. He did make a good caveat to the Democratic claim that Republicans are the party of the elite. He gave a touching story of his own modest upbringing.

The thing that they need to get away from is the blame the media bit, and it will be a great convention. You would also be forgiven for forgetting what the President’s name actually is.
