TSE Election Central: Liveblogging the RNC

I’m just checking in on the festivities, and they are starting up a full night at the Republican National Convention. Hurricane Gustav gave the Republicans a blessing in the sense that it forced Dubya not to be at the actual convention. He becomes only the second President to skip the convention of his party since LBJ. Funny that he was a universally hated Texan President that had plunged the country into a quagmire of a clusterfuck. I think, in the vein of Lewis Black, that this should be enough of a reason for us as Americans to refuse to elect anyone from the state of Texas for the next 100 years.

As I turned on it was a tribute to George H.W. Bush on the video screen, but we are waiting for the Joe Lieberman and Fred Thompson speeches. Anderson Cooper is back in Minnesota, because he is the gay superman.
