The Sunshine Empire

I found the Lieberman speech unremarkable. Not because he was speaking to the Republican National convention, but more because I find Lieberman as inspiring as Droopy Dawg. Overall the night was a good one for the Republicans. The speeches were by and large good. I think Fred Thompson was a great choice for a speaker. The Reagan video was a bit tired, but all in all Laura Bush and the rest did a good first night job. The liberal fantasy of Sarah Palin turning all Tom Eagleton will not happen, but the pick is being seen by even Republicans as a bit daft. We’ll see and we look forward to Governor Hotness speaking tomorrow night to accept her nomination. We’re guessing she’ll only mention Hillary Clinton twice. The clear politics of the matter is much like the Democrats in 2002, the Republicans seem to feel that there is more success in looking like Democrats lite this year.
