The Sunshine Empire Is Home Just In Time For Fay
RogerCon West 2008 and The Sunshine Empire second annual Pacific Conference has come to an end and we were able to make it back to The Sunshine Empire, just in time for Tropical Storm/Hurricane Fay to arrive. Current National Weather Service and weather.com tracking has Fay at category 1 hurricane strength making landfall squarely over The Sunshine Empire sometime Thursday and into Friday. After swinging out to the Atlantic briefly after traversing the state of Florida the storm will make landfall again just north of St. Augustine and about 20 minutes south of our VP Tower headquarters in Jacksonville. We hope that our regular reader who goes by St. Augustine will keep himself and his family safe. Now a category 1 is not the end of the world, but it is certainly no picnic either. Although we were brushed several times during the historic hurricane summer of 2004, this area has not sustained a direct hit from a hurricane since the mid 1960′s. Looking at the maps, I think Fay is bringing change I can believe in when it comes to that track record. I perhaps should have stayed in Oregon.
