It is a truly lonely life being a Jacksonville Jaguar fan. The national liberal media only takes notice of one of the more consistent franchises in the NFL over the last 14 years unless something unfavorable is happening. Today is no different. The Philadelphia news brings word that billionaire C. Dean Metropoulos is working to purchase the Jaguars and take them from clueless and uninterested fans in Duval, to clueless and uninterested fans in Los Angeles. Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver has denied the reports. But the real prize of the day goes to resident screw up Matt Jones.
Matt Jones was one of those picks that while very dangerous, had large upside for a franchise with wide receiver problems. Jones’ size and speed had visions of Randy Moss dancing in all four of us Jaguar fans’ heads. But the man shows the same enthusiasm for the game of football as I do toward laundry. Turns out he is an enthusiast of white powder. Now I can care less about the drug use as much as I’m agitated about the stupidity of being a public figure and using it in a car. The great Kissing Suzy Kolber puts it best today.
