Federer And That Other Guy At Wimbledon

I’m not a fan of tennis at all.  I have tennis courts a fair two acres away from here, but it’s no centre court at Wimbledon.  Yet here in America to the average sports fan the fortnight is nothing but an inconvenience.  No Meet The Press this morning and it was interrupting my viewing habits in the morning the past two weeks.  But I can appreciate dominance and Roger Federer has one the last five straight Wimbledon tournaments and that can’t be that easy to do.  When Pete Sampras was automatic at Wimbledon hardly a person noticed in the States and they are not paying attention to Federer doing it either, but it is impressive.  Americans will not watch a foriegn sporting event unless it features an American, and that’s why everybody stopped giving a shit about the Tour de France.  I still won’t watch tennis, but it’s really remarkable that his streak came to an end at the hands of Rafael Nadal.  Impressive because I had not idea that anyone else was playing tennis other than Federer, but you live and learn.  That’s my sports world, and nobody can challenge that.
