The Sunshine Empire

I’ve found today that no matter how much one may claim to loathe a blow-hard, we all have a blow-hard that we subscribe to with full abandon. Even I, love the blow-hard, even though by and large I rant against it. This space is quite fond of Keith Olbermann, but the man is a total blow-hard. Conservatives all across the fruited plain state that they hate Keith Olbermann, but then proudly present their dittohead credentials. If you didn’t know what I meant by dittohead, then there is hope for you. The Sunshine Empire is full of divergent voices from Biggus Rickus to Crustle, but we all love the man or woman that bloviates on our behalf. Not that either bloviates.

But this phenomenon is nothing more than what is going on in the greater American body politic. We are drawing away from the truly unbiased source to what most closely associates to our deeply held political beliefs. We gravitate to the source that agrees with us. This only means that all ratings mean absolutely nothing.
