Gas Tax Distractions
The latest promise going around the campaign trail is the idea of a summer Federal gas tax holiday. Old man McCain proposed one, because he like every Republican thinks that the Federal deficit is only something fake President’s on 24 have to deal with. But did you know that common sense would tell you that if the price goes down demand goes up. The market will correct for this and the price will go up. The gas tax holiday is political red meat bullshit being thrown to people to distract them from the real political issues. Of course Hillary just came out and said she was for it just like McCain. This as Obama acts like an adult with basic understanding of math and he’ll probably be construed as wanting to actually increase the tax. Thank God liberals have control of the media.

Gas is basically a necessity. Demand would remain relatively unchanged. But it’s not a long-term solution to anything. Of course, the only solutions that anyone will consider involve pipe-dreams of new energy sources. Realistic long-term solutions, such as drilling for oil to increase the supply and getting more of our power from nuclear and hydroelectric plants where feasible are off the table as far as your party of choice is concerned.
And you know another way to balance the budget? Roll back the nanny state a little bit. I know it sounds crazy, but all talk of balancing the budget doesn’t have to revolve around taxes. Not that the Republicans have been any better than Democrats on this issue of late. McCain certainly won’t be.
Have to agree some with Biggus but I will go farther. Get rid of the Nanny state stuff. Get rid of Welfare in all its forms. Go back to only what the Constitution allows for. If we went back to only what the Constituion allowed we could get rid of taxes all together.
Lets make the Government conform to the Document its supposed to. If they want to add something Make sure its added to the Constitution. This will save us the Tax payers all kinds of money.
