With A Red Bull On Sunday Morning

-After taking some time for some important drinking, and golf I wanted to drop in during my weekend long celebration of James Garner’s birthday to touch on a variety of subjects. After mentioning Phillipe Sands story in Vanity Fair and how David Addington, Rumsfeld, and company should not leave the country, Andrew Sullivan made the same point this morning on The Chris Matthews Show. I guess he reads The Sunshine Empire.

-Sunday here means Red Bull and the political round table on This Week, and we find more agreement with TSE. The consensus seems to be that the extended primary season for the Democrats is not the doom and gloom that the bored political commentary class is making it out to be. Panel members seem to feel that it is actually good for the eventual nominee and will be over much earlier than many of the primary seasons of the 20th century.

-One of the paragons of the 20th century film industry was Charlton Heston, and his death is morned all around the world today. Sadly, now we have no one to stop the hordes of apes that will now enslave us. Those damn dirty apes.

-Sadly it seems that Robert Mugabe is moving to stamp out any chance that the people of Zimbabwe will be able to change their wretchedly broken government. Now it looks as if only the good Lord will be able to take the 84 year old dictator out of office now that ZANU-PF is challenging all election results and has still yet to announce the results of the Presidential poll. It seems that ever since the U.S. Presidential election in 2000, all elections around the world are contested, drawn out, and contentious.

-Finally, I was glad to see Kansas beat North Carolina and old coach Roy “Droopy Dog” Williams. A program of Kansas’ worth deserves to have it’s time in the spotlight. That and Roy bad-mouthed my squad and my coach Billy Donovan, so suck on it Roy. I do feel though that Memphis will be the eventual winner Tuesday
