The War And The Economy

Am I the only one that feels that the more the Fed dumps more and more paper onto the market, and keeps lowering interest rates, the more and more worthless the Dollar becomes? It takes a $1.51 to get just one Euro. Also, since international oil markets only trade in Dollars, the worthless Dollar causes oil prices to skyrocket.

Wing nuts have been denying that the Iraq war has been harming the economy, but you only need to look at the numbers. Since 2003 the Dollar has gone in the toilet. In 2003 oil was trading at roughly $36 a barrel. Now it is hovering around $107 per barrel. The war, despite liberal and progressive political arguments was not started to gain more oil. But the war has certainly lined the pockets of oil executives. Profits have skyrocketed since the war, and those numbers are as plain as day.

  1. It has, though not as much as the housing idiocy did.
