Bigot Street Cred From Fox News
I was in a redneck karaoke bar on Saturday night and a television across the bar from me had Fox News on. As drunken versions of Conway Twitty songs were sung by aspiring artists, every glance at the screen had the Reverend Jeremiah Wright featured. Through every show on the network they where running hard with the story that they said was concerning to Senator Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. Now this after Senator Obama stated in no uncertain terms that he disavowed all the statements that Rev. Wright has said that had offended some. This, much like his assertion that he is not a Muslim, doesn’t seem to be enough for the Fixed Noise crowd. “Yeah, he may have disavowed it, but he couldn’t mean it, I mean come on, he’s black,” seemed to be the talking heads’ reaction on the Murdoch channel. I can only deduce that they are scared shitless of him. This seems like a dead issue, despite my tacit support of his candidacy. Yet no matter what Obama says, no matter how hard he comes out and denounces the words in question, it’s just not enough for them. The political juice has been squeezed from this rock and the debate from the vapid commentary class is empty. If only Obama could have the get out of supporting a bigot free card like Senator McCain and his buddy Reverend “the Catholic Church is the great whore” Hagee.
Many other and better written blogs have already pointed out the fact that the evil liberal media seems to have taken no notice and let pass his support from the anti-Catholic bigot Hagee. Believe me I am loathe to admit whenever I am on the same page as attention whore Bill Donahue. But Fox News will continue with it’s wall to wall Wright coverage, even after much of America has moved on.

Difference being that Obama attended church where he preached and had a close relationship with Wright for 20 years. I can only assume he wasn’t all that offended by Wright’s more “controversial” views. McCain has no long-standing relationship with Hagee and to my knowledge has never attended service at the man’s church.
I am going to have to agree with Biggus Rickus on this. Not voting for McCain, Obama or Clinton though and the big media does overlook a hell of a lot. Guess what there are other parties out there besides the Republicans and Democrats. Of course not if you watch big media. I am going to vote Libertarian.
So McCain is excused by nature of distance, and Obama’s disavowal means nothing due to his being his local pastor? A man he called his former pastor yesterday. And why is it that the clip they always play of Wright has him dressed up like an Incan God?
Because he often dressed as an Incan God. I’ve seen several clips and he always wore gaudy raimants. And yes, disavowing someone when it becomes politically necessary is meaningless.
I’d like to apologize to one and all for fucking up the word “raiment” both in spelling and the plural form.
