On the weekend and waterboarding

I noticed during the Democratic Presidential debate that former Alaska Senator Mike Gravel was not in attendance.  I don’t think that Senator Gravel has a chance in hell of winning the nomination, but I think he will be sorely missed in these debates.  Sure he was bat shit insane, but he actually called out many of the mainstream candidates on their bullshit.  He was more usefull than Dennis talking about UFO’s and shit.

I’ve completely stopped watching football for the year now that Florida has gone done big, and the Jags have caught the injury/steriods bug.  Sports can give you the highest elation, but it sure can bight you in the ass when it goes the other way.

This is a confusing time in The Sunshine Empire.  The rest of the country starts wearing coats, and we keep wearing shorts, but with the occasional long sleeve t-shirt.  White Christmas my ass.  Things never change down here now that global warming has not had any effect on our climate.  When you have lived in a sub-tropical enviroment your entire life you long for it to be just a bit chilly.  All for not now that the global warning jury is still out.  I’d love that gig as a juror.  They just get to sit around deliberating and never coming to an answer, if by no answer you mean the vast majority of scientists inisisting it’s true.  But as Steven Colbert says, “facts have a well known liberal bias.”

I personally think I should be arrested because I still have not seen the new Transformers movie.  I should probably turn myself in.

I find it amusing that the Administration will not come out and say that certain methods are torture or not.  I remember the days of Ronald Reagan saying that we did not negotiate with terrorists, now the feeling seems to be, “well they’re evil so it’s ok to do henious shit to people that we used to impose sanctions on other countries for doing.”  Bush’s current nominee for the post of Attorney General seems to avoid the question like some fucking fifth grade school girl denying a crush on the captain of the football team.  Those who say that we are better than that are called weak and soft on terror, not abiding by the Constitution of the United States.  Even the Israelis say that waterboarding is torture.  If anyone has more experience in dealing with eminant terrorist threats than those people do please point them out to me because they have to be hiding.  But the shining city on a hill cannot say if they have reverted to some Soviet gulag mentality.  God Bless America, for our own sake.
