Twilight Empire
I heard someone the other day stating that George Bush had made disparaging remarks about Hollywood values. I have a policy of not reading his remark’s pap and circumstances that he is lowered to with abysmal national poll rankings. Yet it occured to me that most Republicans share many Hollywood values. The switch bedfellows constantly, as in the case of Jim Jeffords and pseudo-Demopublican Joseph Lieberman. They enjoy rock star status despite a true lack of actual talent (see Ann Coulter and the President). They are rich beyond the dreams of avarice. They have multiple wives (see Rudy and Freddie Thompson). In addition to all these things they love hookers (see Dick Morris and Senator David Vitter). They’re not so different the two of them. It’s a surprise that they are not natural allies.
