Brain Salad Surgery is a masterful tapestry of chaotic beauty. Many only know the rif “welcome back my friends to the show that never ends” but Karn Evil 9 goes through my head constantly. From top to bottom the mix of organ and pure rock genius is what makes this a fantastic album for Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. When most of what qualifies as good music today is the repetition of same redundant twist over and over again, this album has songs that tell entire volumes of imagery.
